“20/Happy...
Better Isn’t Best”
We all know the idea of 20/20 vision. The “best” level of sight that most people aspire to have. Have you ever had a goal you worked so hard to achieve and after you made it realized you’re not happy here? In this talk Joshua dives deeper into concepts centered around success vs satisfaction and how you should take this into account when planning short term and long term goals.
“Twice As Good:
Vision Therapy and Consistency”
Amblyopia is the most common cause of vision loss as 2%- 4% of children are affected. Growing up an amblyopic patient, Joshua accepted his visual status and lived life barely able to see out of his left eye. It wasn’t until has time in graduate school that a connection with a mentor taught him the key on how to see and lead others to the gift of better sight.
“Optical Optimism”
Seeing is believing, right? … Right? Optical illusions show us that sometimes what we see isn’t necessarily what is in front of us. Would you be shocked to learn that a good amount of what you see isn’t the absolute truth? Or that there are forces that use this knowledge to get you to think and behave in certain ways? In this talk Joshua discusses illusions, influences, and incomplete images all around us, and gives insight into how optimism could and should hold a large role in your everyday life.
